SUBSTANCE: portion capsule for beverage preparation has a base element with an edge area forming a hollow space accommodating raw material for beverage preparation and which is closed by a membrane fixed on the edge area of the main element. Portion capsule has an identifier which enables individualizing the corresponding portion capsule. Identifier is a bar code on the side of the edge region of the main element facing away from the membrane and located along the entire circumference of the said edge area.
EFFECT: invention provides a bar code location hidden from eyes and its reading within the brewing chamber.
