SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a manhole cover with thickness of at least 10 mm, and to a method for its production. Method includes creating a mixture of reagents, which can generate polymer thermosetting material mixed fibre corresponding reinforcing material. Obtained mixture is introduced into an open mold, mold is closed by appropriate mating mold, mixture is cured, mold is opened and obtained manhole cover is extracted. Obtained cover is capable of withstanding a load at least 10 kN applied to upper face.
EFFECT: producing a manhole cover made from plastic material with good mechanical properties of resistance, simple and cheap method.
