FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for electroslag melting of solid and hollow ingots from structural boron containing steel. Flux contains, wt%: aluminium oxide 7-10, magnesium oxide 3-8, calcium fluoride 48-57, magnesium fluoride 28-35.

EFFECT: invention allows to produce flux with fusion temperature not higher than 1,250 °C, which is stable at temperature 1,600 °C and ensures high surface quality and density of melted ingot, and also reduces intensity of melting of consumable electrode.
