If the tire (2) is manufactured in accordance with a known model, the tire (2) is monitored to look for any manufacturing defects by obtaining data, characterizing at least a part of the tire (2) surface by means of a set of imaging devices (282), installed in accordance with the settings corresponding to a known tire model. If the tire (2) is manufactured in accordance with an unknown model, the following steps are performed sequentially: obtaining the first profile (300) of tire (2); determination of mounting parameters for devices (278) to obtain a second profile based on the obtained first profile (300); obtaining the second profile (400) of tire (2); determination of the mounting parameters for the specified set of imaging devices (282) based on the obtained second profile (400); cataloging the specified unknown model as a known model and adding it to the specified set of known models.

EFFECT: ability to automatically determine the optimal mounting parameters for imaging devices to be used for tire monitoring, taking into account their specific profile.
