FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: method involves aqua exercises in a swimming pool. Health-improving aqua exercises are done in water to acquire basic swimming skills. The 5-10-minute combined hypoxic game exercises are performed with breath-holding after inhalation and breath-holding after exhalation. The exercises performed with breath-holding after inhalation include: first - the child wearing swimming goggles takes a deep breath and immerses his/her head in water, holds it under the water until feels necessary to inhale, lifts the head above the water and breathes normally; second - the child takes a deep breath and reaches the bottom of the swimming pool by moving his/her hands on the ladder or a pole protruding from the water and secured on the bottom, stays under the water until feels necessary to inhale; the child does the third exercise after having acquired the basic swimming skills - takes a deep breath, reaches the bottom and collects objects lying on the bottom at different space from each other. After the child has acquired the exercises performed with breath-holding after inhalation, the child proceeds with the exercises performed with breath-holding after exhalation: the child takes a deep breath, then exhales completely, sits on the bottom of the swimming pool, and stays there until feels necessary to inhale. Each exercise is performed 5-6 times with 20-30-second pauses until breathing restores, with increasing the length of staying under the water from 2 to 30 s and more on each following training. The trainings are performed 3 times a week for 12 months.
EFFECT: method provides the child's adaptation to hypoxia, relieved airway inflammation, reduced rate and length of aggravations, improved function of external respiration, lower dependence on drug therapy and rate of concomitant viral infection, ensures stress-free combined training of the child's respiratory system without high energy consumption.
