SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to means of measuring users of television broadcast channel. Method includes steps of a) at least one unit called controlled unit is connected (88) with a peer-to-peer network, b) controlled unit sends (102) a request to at least another node of peer-to-peer network, b) said control unit receives (94) in response to request a list of adjacent nodes, receiving same television broadcast channel, shown on peer-to-peer network in a continuous flow, d) said control unit updates (142) its own list of adjacent nodes by adding to said list contained in received at stage b) list of identifiers of adjacent nodes which previously not contained in its own list of adjacent nodes. Method also includes performing (170) measurement of viewers based on available on controlled unit list of adjacent nodes.
EFFECT: technical result is improved accuracy and speed of measurement.
