FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to composition of light-absorbing coatings used in heat treatment of carbon alloys. Light-absorbing coating for items from carbon alloy contains copper oxide and binder-hydroxyethyl cellulose, sodium or potassium silicate and water in following proportions, wt%: copper oxide 4.2-4.8, hydroxyethyl cellulose 4.0-4.4, sodium or potassium silicate 25.0-26.5, water is balance.
EFFECT: higher absorption coefficient and reduction of costs for heating of when using coating for thermal treatment of carbon alloys.
