FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: method involves feeding a powdery filler material to the surface of the preform and irradiating the filler feed zone with a scanning laser beam. Scanning of the laser beam is carried out in a direction perpendicular to the direction of travel of the beam or workpiece, with a laser beam frequency f = 3-600 Hz and a scanning amplitude A = (3-30) d, where d is the diameter of the laser beam.
EFFECT: expansion of the surfacing area and increase in the strength properties of the deposited layer.
