FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to metallurgy, particularly, to iron melting. Claimed process includes the feed of commercially pure oxygen by oxygen lance into iron melting plant for gasification of carbon carriers to the depth of oxygen jet penetration for circulation zone formation. To increase the circulation zone, the oxygen jet is fed at constant rate of 100 m/s to sound velocity, permanent mass flow rate and jet pulse. Note here that the oxygen jet temperature is increased at invariable oxygen jet rate as well as the oxygen jet volumetric flow rate by means of oxygen lance of increased diameter.
EFFECT: better gas exchange between the slag and iron liquid and solid phases as well as metal tap.
