FIELD: electroanalytical chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electroanalytical chemistry, physical chemistry, physics and can be used in medicine, pharmaceutical and food industry for determination of caffeine content in biological fluids, medicinal preparations, food products. Modified electrode for determination of caffeine is obtained through successive electrodeposition on working surface of glass-carbon electrode ruthenium and iridium oxides from solutions of RuCl3 and IrCl3 with cyclic variation of potential electrode from -1.0 to + 1.5 V, with linear potential sweep rate of 100 mV/s for 3-17 minutes. Method of using modified electrode according to invention consists in that amperometric detection of caffeine in portion-injection analysis conditions when applying potential of +1.2 V at which concentration of caffeine is calculated by regression equation obtained using a calibration curve of standard solutions.
EFFECT: invention provides a wider range of agents and methods for analytical determination of caffeine, high sensitivity and rapidness of method of determination of caffeine, reliability of results of determination, higher efficiency of determination of caffeine, wider field of use of analytical tools.
