FIELD: metallurgy.

SUBSTANCE: claimed process comprises fuel feed into the furnace and heating of ingots fitted inclined to the heating furnace inner wall to form the V-shape space under the ingot of triangular cross-section, between the ingot and the furnace inner wall. Fuel; feed and combustion tubes are directed into said V-like space. Note here that at least one tube is used for feed of oxidiser with oxygen content of at least 85 wt % and arranged in the furnace wall so that its nozzle is located inside the furnace for oxidiser feed in said V-like space at the rate of 100 m/s.

EFFECT: higher temperature uniformity owing to minimised temperature gradients inside the furnace and ruled out local overheat.
