FIELD: fuel combustion methods and devices.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method and a preheating system for burning low-grade fuel using an industrial burner. Method for combustion of a fuel using at least one industrial burner, which burner is fed with a low-grade, gaseous fuel with a Lower Heating Value (LHV) of 8 MJ/Nm3 or less and an oxidant. Combustion products from the combustion of the fuel with the oxidant are brought firstly through a first heat exchanging step, in which thermal energy is transferred from the combustion products to the fuel which is thereby preheated, and the thus cooled combustion products thereafter are brought through a second heat exchanging step, in which thermal energy is transferred from the cooled combustion products to the oxidant which is thereby also preheated. Low-grade fuel is obtained as a result of the operation of a blast furnace, which is located in the same industrial enterprise as the burner.
EFFECT: technical result is to enable the use of low-grade fuel in high-temperature processing, such as heating furnaces for steel materials.
