FIELD: measurement technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to equipment for measuring flow rate of conducting fluids with help of electromagnet flow meters. Method of measuring flow rate of conducting fluids is implemented by means of primary converter of flow line of which there is magnetic system with excitation windings and there are two diametrically opposite electrodes. Supply of excitation windings is performed by bipolar pulse current from the program-controlled current source. Signal from electrodes, proportional flow is supplied to measuring amplifier, converted into digital code in ADC and fed to processor. With consumption corresponding to transient value, processor generates command to controller and controlled current source on stepped increase of current feed based on defined algorithm, which leads to increase in magnetic field induction in primary converter of flow rate and, consequently, to increase signal from electrodes. Processor generates output signal in digital form proportional to flow rate.
EFFECT: high accuracy of measuring flow rate and wider range of measuring flow rate.
