FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: arrester is made assembled out of n+1 dielectric plates, for example disks, installed on an insulating rod, and each having a through hole, covered at one side by an electrode, and at another side having a slit going from the through hole to the external contour, connected with the possibility of creation of the discharge clearance in the thickness of the dielectric plate between the electrodes of two adjacent disks, and the arc blowing channel in the slit. To exclude the possibility of the arc "pickup" on the casing surface the arrester can have the separators of the arc discharges of adjacent chambers. Besides, the outputs of the arc blowing channels can be surface spaced.
EFFECT: creation of the high process arrester, having increased mechanical strength and able to withstand high current loads ensuring the stability of the discharge characteristics.
