SUBSTANCE: invention relates to devices for protecting electrical equipment and load-bearing structures from lightning surges and methods for their manufacture. The arrester includes an insulating body, discharge chambers in the insulating body and electrodes placed in the insulating body and exiting into the discharge chambers having exits to the surface of the insulating body. Holes connecting the discharge chambers are made in the electrodes.

EFFECT: increased efficiency of the arrester and simplification of its design.
