SUBSTANCE: invention refers to medicine, more specifically to substitute bone, which includes core based on hydroxyapatite (HAP), obtained from at least one type of porous wood, or on basis of collagen fibres and hydroxyapatite, and coating based on hydroxyapatite (HAP) or silicon carbide (SiC) produced from wood at least one type with lower porosity, than at least one type of wood for core. Porous wood has total porosity of 60 to 95 %, preferably 65% to 85%, and selected from rattan, pine, abachi and cork tree. Wood for shell has porosity from 20 to 60 %, preferably from 30 to 50 %.

EFFECT: bone substitute is used for replacement and restoration of bone, subject to mechanical loads, for example of long bones arms and legs, preferably of tibia, metatarsal bone, femoral bone, shoulder or radial bone.
