SUBSTANCE: invention relates to processing of banknotes. Device includes multiple units of storage 52, transportation unit 18 configured to transfer banknote, placed in machine body 2, in each storage block 52; unit of recognition 40 arranged in transport unit 18 and configured to read banknote serial number placed in machine body 2; and control unit 70 to control transport unit 18. Unit 70 controls transport unit 18 so, that banknote, serial number of which has been read by recognition unit 40 and banknote, serial number of which has not been read by recognition unit 40, are stored in different storage blocks 52.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of reliability of processing banknotes.
