FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: application: in electrical engineering. According to the invention the number of reactive components M in each N bank of reactive components is increased up to the value of M+K, where K is the number of reserve reactive components selected on the condition of a continuous process for energy consumers. Connection of each reactive component in each of N banks of reactive components is made individually at moments of voltage equation at the respective reactive components at its arbitrary value and the voltage of the network considering permanent diagnostics of the running state for each of the reactive components. At that connection of each of N banks of reactive components to the network is made upon completion of reactive components switching in the respective component out of N banks of the reactive components. Thereupon a control command is generated to specify settings of an adaptive compensator of harmonics.
EFFECT: improvement of current quality due to the increase of the operation speed of processes compensating reactive power in conditions of variable loads and failures of certain components, reduced overloading of the reactive components and switching components and increased functioning reliability.
