SUBSTANCE: invention relates to method for isomerisation of paraffins, which includes steps of: separation of isomerisation waste product flow to product flow, which contains branched and straight paraffins, and steam flow of top stabiliser product, which contains HCl, H₂ and C₆-hydrocarbons; removal C₆-hydrocarbons, at least from part of steam flow of top product stabiliser for producing flow enriched with HCl and H₂; isomerisation catalyst activation using at least part of stream rich in HCl and H₂, for producing catalyst for isomerisation, promoted by chloride; and letting paraffin supplied raw material in contact with catalyst, promoted by chloride in presence of hydrogen for isomerisation of paraffins. Invention also relates to apparatus.

EFFECT: use of this invention allows to reduce consumption of caustic alkali in order to improve process efficiency and reduction of overall operating costs.
