SUBSTANCE: electromechanical control device (12) for detection of undesired elevator cabin travel from standstill comprises a follower wheel (13), which, if necessary, is pressed against running path (14, 25) of elevator cabin, preferably against a running diameter (25) of the speed limiter. Sensor (15) detects a rotation of follower wheel (13) and actuates a brake device, when a rotary angle of follower wheel (13) exceeds a predetermined value.

EFFECT: electromechanical control device (12) is suitable for modifying or installation in limiter (24) and is suitable for modification of elevator installations.
