FIELD: data processing.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to road traffic control, namely to methods of controlling traffic on intersection. Method of controlling traffic on intersection consists in change of operating modes of traffic light depending on traffic motion conditions. Before intersection traffic lights are installed by means of which traffic is redistributed on lanes to form two flow control zones, "preparative" and "gate" before intersection. In conditions of non-uniformity of traffic in directions principle of reverse motion within the limits of intersection is used for preparation and passage of vehicles.
EFFECT: higher intersection throughput and higher safety of movement of vehicles and pedestrians.
