FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly to self-locking nipple for attachment of wheel spoke to part of wheel. Self-locking nipple comprises body intended for installation into hole in part of wheel and having axial hole with inner thread extending along longitudinal axis of nipple and intended to receive end of wheel spoke with external thread. Axial opening with inner thread, narrowed part of which implements function self-locking of nipple. Narrowed part of inner thread is symmetric relative to longitudinal axis of nipple and passes over one or two turns of internal thread. Method of making self-locking nipple comprises steps of: nipple is produced, body of nipple is deformed by means of clamping device. Device for making self-locking nipple has clamping device for deformation of nipple body.
EFFECT: higher accuracy of self-locking of nipple.
