SUBSTANCE: invention relates to autostereoscopic display devices. The device comprises a display panel (3) having an array of display pixel elements (5), an imaging arrangement (9) which directs an output signal from different pixel elements to different spatial positions, having first and second polarisation-sensitive lens-raster arrays (50) and (52), wherein light incident on the imaging arrangement is controlled to produce one of the two possible polarisations.
EFFECT: high efficiency of effective resolution while maintaining the required switching rate.
