FIELD: telecommunications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication and information technology, namely to protection of authenticity of electronic images (EI), compressed by EI compression algorithms, such as JPEG2000, H.264, etc., transmitted by sender to recipient via public transmission channels, in which violator can perform actions to impose recipient with non-authentic EI. Technical result of claimed solution is EI authentication without increasing the length of encoded to allow EI authentication compared with the length of encoded without providing EI authentication and without reducing accuracy of authenticated EI encoding. Said technical result is achieved by the fact that for sender wavelet conversion is performed above EI, wavelet coefficients obtained as a result of conversion are quantised and divided into code blocks used to generate ordered binary sequences, which are coded by arithmetic coding into coded sequences of this unit and used with cryptographic hash functions and private key for calculating binary sequence of digital watermark, which is replaced with the latter binary symbols of encoded sequence of code unit, transmit encoded EI to recipient, where authenticity of EI received is checked, for which decode coded sequences of received code block by arithmetic decoding in ordered binary sequences used with cryptographic hash function and private key for calculating the binary sequence of digital watermark, which is compared with the last binary symbols of this encoded sequence and when they coincide, ordered binary sequence is considered to be authentic.

EFFECT: disclosed method can be used to establish authenticity of electronic images transmitted in up-to-date information-telecommunication systems.
