FIELD: engines.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to electric rocket propulsion systems with electromagnetic acceleration of plasma. Electric propulsion system comprises power plant, system for storage and supply of working medium and electric jet engine. Device comprises coaxially mounted cathode, nozzle-anode and solenoid arranged outside nozzle-anode. Power plant and solenoid are connected through current leads with motor-generator. Flywheel and electric rocket engine are coaxially fixed at motor-generator shaft. Device is connected with system of storage and supply of working medium through insulating spacer and channel made inside shaft of electric motor-generator.

EFFECT: technical result is reduction of weight of power plant and higher thrust of electric rocket propulsion system.
