FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to use of emulsion obtained from an antimicrobial essential oil, which includes Arabic gum and water, to methods for improvement of antimicrobial action antimicrobial essential oil and to an aqueous composition containing an emulsion of antimicrobial essential oil, which includes Arabic gum and water. Emulsion provides for presence of essential oil in concentration of 0.08 wt% or less. Method involves following steps: emulsification essential oil with Arabic gum and water to form emulsion; addition of emulsion to aqueous composition and obtaining as a result essential oil in an aqueous composition in final concentration of 0.08 wt% or less. Other version of method comprises addition of essential oil and Arabic gum to an aqueous composition and obtaining as a result essential oil in an aqueous composition in final concentration of 0.08 wt% or less, and mixing aqueous composition for emulsification of essential oil with Arabic gum. Aqueous composition is a beverage, a food product, biologically active food supplement or animal feed.
EFFECT: invention is aimed at effective antibacterial effect of essential oil, use of antibacterial essential oil in composition of emulsion does not affect inherent taste and smell profile of water food product.
