FIELD: technological processes.

SUBSTANCE: present invention relates to close pass of billets from heavy-duty materials with back pressure of metal plaque lubricant. Proposed method comprises close pass with treating the inner surface of a billet by a floating mandrel, strengthened by a single cut helical regular microrelief, while the billet inner cavity is sealed with a rubber-metal plug.

EFFECT: possibility to close pass thin-walled billets without the risk of their destruction, optimised process conditions are ensured by the fact that the mandrel is provided with a built-in check valve to adjust the level of lubricant back pressure in the inner cavity of the tubular billet by sealing the locking outlet of the floating mandrel with a spherical element that has a spring and screw plug.
