SUBSTANCE: invention relates to paediatric ophthalmology and aims at treating congenital cataracts with congenital decreased posterior capsule of lens. Introduced between it and posterior capsule of lens viscoelastic in amount of 0.1-0.2 ml. After that, with help of cystotome, cutting spatula or layering device fibrous applications are separated from posterior capsule of lens with light motions, thus maintaining its integrity and removing by traction towards corneal incision. Then IOL is implanted.
EFFECT: method provides integrity of capsular sac, intra-capsular IOL implantation, minimum frequency of operative and postoperative complications, optimum functional results, enables congenital cataract extraction with IOL implantation in infants.
