FIELD: environmental protection.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to environmental technologies and water treatment technologies and can be used for cleaning surface and underground waters from iron. In particular, the invention employs water-soluble dihydroxy-benzol-humic derivatives, which are modified to possess higher redox capacity and the ability to bind iron ions. Method to be applied in water cleaning means using humic derivatives as a reaction agent in production of solid-phase iron scavengers. Application is performed by immobilising humic derivatives on solid substrate - anion-exchange resin, which then is used as part of filters to remove iron from ground or surface waters.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of iron extraction from water solutions for various rates of oxidation is ensured.
