FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to heat exchangers, wherein condensation of vapours in annular space is performed, and can be applied to chemical, petrochemical, and other industries. Disclosed is vertical shell and tube heat exchanger with condensation of vapours in annular space, on casing thereof are inlet and outlet of steam condensate, characterised by that steam inlet connection pipe is located in middle part of casing. When superheated steam is fed into middle part of apparatus, formation of cooling zone of vapors with dry surface of heat exchange tubes is ruled out, since condensate formed in upper part of apparatus, when flows down, wets heat exchange tubes along whole length.
EFFECT: technical result is higher efficiency of heat exchange in heat exchangers operating with condensation of steam within annular space, saving energy resources, and also higher reliability of heat exchangers.
