FIELD: metalworking.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to thermochemical treatment of metal surfaces. To increase corrosion resistance of metal article surface is machined to allow surface-hardening and passivation of article surface, wherein mechanical treatment of article surface is carried out until surface roughness with mean arithmetic deviation of Ra profile no more than 1.6 mcm, hardening degree not below 5 %, hardening depth not less than 8 mcm, and passivation of article surface is carried out until layer of oxide film with thickness of not less than Ra + 1 mcm is obtained.
EFFECT: increased corrosion resistance of articles.
