FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to surface processing and can be used for improving steel antirust properties in oxidising media (oxygen, air, steam). This process includes the application of protective film on surface at increased temperature. Note here that before application of said film, initial oxide film is removed at the room temperature in inert medium by emery cloth and this surface is finished. Now, chromium oxide 0.8÷1.0 mcm deep protective film is applied on said steel surface by its oxidation at oxygen partial pressure of 10-8÷10-10 Pa and temperature of 830÷930°C.
EFFECT: higher antirust properties.
