FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for creation of devices for generation and frequency modulation with increased linear section of frequency modulation characteristic at arbitrary characteristics of nonlinear element. Method for generation and frequency modulation of high-frequency signals is characterised by that four-terminal element is resistive, load is made in form of first bipole with complex resistance, as external feedback circuit used is arbitrary four-terminal element, series-connected to three-terminal nonlinear element, three-terminal nonlinear element and feedback circuit as integral unit cascade included between introduced second terminal device with complex resistance and input of resistive four-terminal element to output of which is connected load, excitation conditions in form of amplitude and phase balance and matching conditions are made at quasi-linear dependence of generation frequency of amplitude of control signal.

EFFECT: technical result consists in increase of quasi-linear portion of frequency modulation characteristic.
