FIELD: ophthalmology.

SUBSTANCE: device for ophthalmic lens comprises insert with variable optical properties, located at least in part of optical area of lens. Insert comprises curvilinear front and rear surfaces to form at least part of one chamber, power source built in insert in area of non-optical zone, and a layer containing a liquid crystal material located inside at least one camera. Layer includes a field oriented liquid crystal material structure, wherein refraction index of at least in first part of insert with variable optical properties varies depending on radius and has a parabolic dependence on radial distance.

EFFECT: technical result is possibility of varying lens optical power to provide accommodation of vision.
