SUBSTANCE: present invention discloses methods and device for preparing an ophthalmic lens with variable optical power. Insert with variable optical properties may have surfaces with different radii of curvature. Variable optical property insert may also comprise polarizing elements. In some examples, the intermediate optical element may be formed in such a way, that it may contain a UV-absorbing dye that allows differential processing of areas on both sides of the intermediate optical element. In some embodiments ophthalmic lenses are cast from silicone-hydrogel. Various ophthalmic lens objects may include electroactive liquid crystal layers for electrically controlling refractive characteristics.
EFFECT: use of present group of inventions widens the range of equipment.
