SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to oral care compositions and can be used in perfume-cosmetic industry for producing said compositions. Disclosed is use of a zinc or copper (II) salt of general formula , where M is Zn or Cu, R¹ is hydrogen or methyl, R² is selected from a group comprising hydrogen, substituted or unsubstituted alkyl, alkenyl, alkadienyl, substituted or unsubstituted aryl, as a component of an oral care composition and an oral care composition, containing said salt in an amount of 0.5 to 5% of weight of composition. Orally acceptable base can contain a polyatomic alcohol, surfactant, taste, flavouring and other functional additives and deionised water.

EFFECT: use of zinc or copper (II) salts of formula (1), in oral care agents enables to maintain in oral cavity bactericidal and/or fungicidal, anti-erosion and reparative action of composition for a long period of time after use of composition due to ability of said compounds to penetrate surface layer of enamel and be retained in it for a long time.
