FIELD: metallurgy.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to powder metallurgy, namely to metal-thermal methods of producing nanocrystalline powders of molybdenum. Oxide compound of molybdenum in the form of alkali-earth metal molybdate and spatially separated from the oxide compound reducing metal in the form of magnesium or calcium are loaded into the reactor. Alkali-earth metal used is one or more metals selected from a group comprising magnesium, calcium, barium. Reduction is performed in vacuum or atmosphere of an inert gas - argon and/or helium. In the reaction volume temperature T is maintained within the range of 0.95Tmelt. ≤ T ≤ 0.85Tboil., where Tmelt. and Tboil. are melting point and boiling point of the reducing metal. Within the range of values of T = (0.95-1.1)Tmelt. the reduction is performed in vacuum, and within the range of values of 1.1Tmelt. < T ≤ 0.85Tboil. - in the inert gas atmosphere. After reduction the reactionary mass is cooled down to room temperature, and acid leaching of the formed oxides with hydrochloric or sulphuric acid solution is performed. Then the obtained powder of molybdenum is washed with deionized water to neutral state and dried.
EFFECT: method increases specific surface of produced powder, and decreases its independence from reduction temperature.
