FIELD: technological processes.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the preparation of a powder of an alloy of molybdenum and tungsten. Method comprises metallothermic reduction of their oxygen compounds to form a reaction mass containing a molybdenum and tungsten alloy powder, recovering the alloy powder from the reaction mass, and washing the powder with water. As oxygen compounds, molybdenum and tungsten are used MeMoxW1-xO4 or MeMoO4 and WO3, or MeWO4 and MoO3, where Me-Mg or Ca, 0<x<1, the metallothermic reduction being carried out with magnesium and / or calcium vapor in an argon and / or helium atmosphere at a pressure of 1–30 kPa and a temperature of 700–870 °C, and the alloy powder is recovered from the reaction mass by acidizing it.
EFFECT: increase in the specific surface area of the resulting alloy powder is provided, while increasing its purity.
