FIELD: laser engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for generating a space self-sustained discharge in electric discharge pulse-periodic gas lasers. Core of invention is that a space discharge generating device includes a discharge chamber with working gas, which has at least one electrode section consisting of two main semitransparent electrodes arranged parallel and connected to the power supply source, two electrically connected discharge electrodes of preliminary ionization made as metal conductors, and each of the main semitransparent electrodes is separated from the back side from the discharge electrodes of preliminary ionization with a dielectric element, each of the main semitransparent electrodes on the opposite side to the main discharge interval is galvanically combined by a metal bus, each of the dielectric elements has an inner cavity with easy-to-ionize gas, in the middle part of the cavity there is a discharge electrode of pre-ionization, for which in the dielectric element there is at least one electric vacuum-tight lead, herewith the dielectric elements are made from a material transparent for radiation and providing pre-ionization of the working gas.
EFFECT: technical result is increasing uniformity of space charge.
