FIELD: biotechnology.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used for production of polysaccharides, particularly bacterial cellulose. Proposed is a method for obtaining bacterial cellulose involving cultivation of symbiotic culture Medusomyces gisevii on a liquid nutrient medium of enzymatic hydrolysate of silver grass, or oat fruit shells, or half-wit flax straw. Bacterial cellulose is separated from the culture fluid, treated with hydrochloric acid and dried at room temperature.
EFFECT: invention ensures production of bacterial cellulose from a cheap non-food cellulose-containing material.
