FIELD: hydrodynamics of water transport facilities; designing of shipboard wave energy absorbers. SUBSTANCE: wave energy absorber is mounted in front of ship's bow. Energy absorber includes outer nozzle having at least one inlet hole and at least one outlet hole. Between inlet and outlet holes there is passage for flow of sea water. Nozzle is mounted below or partially above and partially below the waterline. This nozzle extending from at least one inlet hole to one outlet hole has hydrodynamic shape over entire length or over part of it in longitudinal direction along part of perimeter or over entire perimeter. Such nozzle may be extended beyond contour of ship's bow and may be divided into at least two tunnels. It is good practice to make each tunnel with at least one inlet hole and at least one outlet hole for passage of sea water. Nozzle and tunnels may have constant section or narrowing or widening section or combination of them. EFFECT: enhanced operational and economical efficiency. 12 cl, 6 dwg
