SUBSTANCE: invention relates to continuous metal casting. Shell ring (1) of stirring roll coming in contact with surface of large face (7) of the cast slab (6) is made of nonmagnetic steel. Polyphase linear inductor (8) is mounted coaxially with respect to the shell ring. Support elements are located on both sides of the shell ring and fixed to the rigid frame of the casting machine. Terminal extensions are supported by support elements of the axial shaft fixed against axial rotation. Bearings (3), retaining shell ring with its axial rotation are arranged between shell ring and terminal extensions.
EFFECT: higher rigidity of the shell in cast slabs of various width.
