FIELD: mechanical engineering; conversion of exhaust gases of internal combustion engines. SUBSTANCE: proposed electrically heated cellular element for catalytic conversion of exhaust gases has many through channels for passage of flowing medium. Element is electrically divided crosswise and/or lengthwise in form of meander and/or spiral. At least two current- distributing structures are arranged on side surface, being made mainly in form of inserts. These structures are completely separated from tubular housing by ring clearance. Each current-distributing structure has at least one projecting segment pointed radially inwards or outwards and passing along perimeter. EFFECT: prevention of deformation of current-distributing structures at high working loads. 17 cl, 14 dwg
