FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of producing N-(1,5,3-dithiazepan-3-yl) carboxylic acids of formula (1) , which includes preliminary mixing of 1,2-ethane dithiol and formaldehyde (molar ratio 1:2) for 30 minutes, then mixing obtained mixture with an amino acid, taken in molar ratio of 1,2-ethane dithiol:CH2O:amino acid = 1:2:1 for 2.5-3.5 hours at temperature of about 20 °C and atmospheric pressure in water as a solvent. Output of N-(1,5,3-dithiazepan-3-yl) carboxylic acids of general formula (1) depending on structure of initial amino acid is 86-98 %.
