FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to machine building, particularly, to tools for production of a brake unit. Tool for making a brake unit comprises a receiving plate, which has, as per the first version, a receiving surface, which is a collar. As per the second version, it has a receiving compression surfaces, a collar and multiple pins. As per the third version, it has a pin and a shoe. Method of making a brake unit includes the following stages: alignment of the shoe holes with the receiving plate pins, arrangement of the shoe rear surface onto the collar and on the pin, arrangement of a friction material onto the shoe front surface, heating the friction material and the receiving plate and injection of the friction material. Method of making the brake unit involves the following stages: installation of the shoe, alignment of the shoe rear surface and the receiving surface of the receiving plate, alignment of each shoe hole axis with the pin axis, placing the shoe rear surface onto the collar and the pin and separation of each pin from the adjacent inner wall of the shoe, arrangement of the receiving plate and the shoe into a forming device, preparation, heating and compression of the friction material.

EFFECT: provided is decreased level of the friction material desire to delamination from the shoe due to accelerated heating the friction material.
