FIELD: nuclear power engineering; wastes processing and disposal.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to nuclear power engineering and, particularly, to issues of liquid radioactive wastes handling generated during nuclear power plants operation. Liquid radioactive wastes metal-organic compounds oxidative decomposition device includes photochemical reactor with pulse xenon lamp and power supply unit with storage capacitor, high-voltage rectifier, initiation unit and control unit. Pulse xenon lamp is connected to power supply unit so that pulse xenon lamp and storage capacitor form discharge circuit. Pulse xenon lamp bulb is made in form of ball or other body of revolution. In pulse xenon lamp smallest bulb inner radius exceeds minimum distance between electrodes for at least of 5 times, and pulse xenon lamp and discharge circuit parameters are associated by calculated ratio.
EFFECT: invention enables higher efficiency and productivity of liquid radioactive wastes cleaning of metal-organic compounds by UV processing intensification.
