METHOD FOR GENERATING HIGH-INTENSITY PULSES OF CONTINUOUS SPECTRUM UV RADIATION AND A DEVICE FOR ITS IMPLEMENTATION Russian patent published in 2022 - IPC H01J61/56 A61L2/10

Abstract RU 2784020 C1

FIELD: electrical engineering.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the field of electrical engineering, namely to means for obtaining pulsed continuous spectrum ultraviolet radiation using a high-current discharge in tubular flash lamps with a quartz shell filled with an inert gas and used for disinfection and sterilization of air and objects in a room or wastewater. The method for generating high-intensity pulses of continuous spectrum UV radiation is characterized by the fact that, by means of a current source, an arc contracted discharge is formed in the interelectrode gap of the discharge channel of a xenon flash lamp with quartz walls, to which, then, by means of a discharge circuit switch, a main discharge pulse is supplied with a current density sufficient to achieve the brightness temperatures of the plasma in the discharge channel are more than 7000 K, and thereby generate a pulse of continuous spectrum radiation with ultraviolet output, while the geometric parameters of the discharge channel of the flash lamp are related to the parameters of the discharge circuit by a certain relationship.

EFFECT: increasing the efficiency of UV radiation generation by pulsed xenon lamps with quartz walls while increasing their service life.
