FIELD: radar; measurement technology.

SUBSTANCE: invention represents a method and device for radar measurement of full velocity vector of a meteorological object based on measurement of components of said velocity vector in a limited region in space, determined by width of antenna beam pattern, over a short period of time without scanning. Method is based on space-time processing of signals reflected from meteorological object in an active coherent radar with monopulse in two planes receiving antenna, wherein method includes measuring angular position of regions of meteorological object, separated on basis of equal Doppler frequency, determining radial and two orthogonal to it components of full velocity vector of meteorological object, wherein system of rotation of antenna beam pattern around axis of radiation of probing signal based on a criterion of maximisation of signal intensity in one of receiving channels is used.

EFFECT: high measurement accuracy.
