FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to telecommunication, particularly to methods for assessment of data communication in communication systems. Technical result is high accuracy of estimating information transmission efficiency due to consideration of effect on communication system of interference by additional estimation of noise immunity and refinement thereof by estimating information transmission efficiency.
EFFECT: method comprises steps of: over a selected time interval, determining information transmission efficiency of communication system and logarithm of error probability of receiving a single elementary transmission for fixed signal-to-noise ratio, based on obtained values, calculating parameter - information transmission efficiency of communication system taking into account effect of interference, expressed as a percentage, and indicating degree of proximity of communication system to its ultimate capabilities in information transmission at current conditions of noise-immunity of information exchange.
