BATTERY BASED ON ALKALI METAL IONS WITH BIMETAL ELECTRODE Russian patent published in 2016 - IPC H01M4/38 H01M4/40 H01M10/39

Abstract RU 2602825 C9

FIELD: electrochemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention is related to electrochemical cells containing the first liquid phase, forming a positive electrode, containing lead and antimony, the second liquid phase that makes the electrolyte containing active salt of an alkali metal halide, to make the first boundary surface and the second boundary surface, the first liquid phase is in contact with the second liquid phase through the first boundary surface, and the third liquid phase separated from the first liquid phase and forming a negative electrode, containing active alkali metal in atomic form, the third liquid phase is in contact with the second liquid phase through the second boundary surface, the second liquid phase is configured to transmit cations active alkali metal from the negative electrode to the positive electrode during discharge and back from the positive electrode to negative electrode during charging. In discharged state, the said electrochemical cell, the first liquid phase comprises active alkali metal in atomic form, lead and antimony. In the charged state, the said electrochemical cell, the first liquid phase contains lead and antimony in constant amount as compared to the discharged state said electrochemical cell and has loss of active atoms of an alkali metal, the ratio of lead and antimony is selected, so that the first liquid phase is liquid at the temperature below 600 °C irrespectively of the state of the electrochemical cell. Invention is also related to the method of actuation of the electrochemical cell using electric power accumulator.

EFFECT: proposed cell can combine capacity, efficiency, versatility and long service life.
